Kat Steinmetz is an early-stage investor most recently with Initialized Capital focused on Future of Work and Digital Health. She co-led multiple investments over her almost three years at Initialized, was a member on three boards, and managed seven portfolio companies. In addition, she was the resident talent and culture advisor and coach to 40+ portfolio founders and leadership teams. Kat is also currently a PeopleTech Partners (PTP) Advisor and angel investor in multiple startups.

As a Talent and Culture operator and executive for 15+ years, Kat led teams through hyper-growth, IPOs, global scaling, and M&A. She focused on developing transformational leaders at cutting-edge organizations and innovative ways to build diverse communities and creative cultures. Kat was the former Head of People and Operations for the Burning Man Project, the Global Head of Talent Success at Box, and the Global Head of Talent and Culture Development at Stitch Fix.

As a creative artist, Kat Steinmetz is best known as the singer behind “Kepi and Kat”, the electronic music duo voted Best Electronic Music Act in the Bay Area (SF Guardian) and signed by InGrooves. Formerly a committee member of the SF chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammys), she's performed at festivals and clubs across the nation and around the world. She’s also a prolific and award-winning makeup artist working with clients such as Sprint, Yahoo, University of Phoenix, S&G Clothing, and Lucent Dossier, and musicians such as tUnE-yArDs, Lucius, Allison Russell and Girlyman. Her work has been published in GQ, British Vogue, 7x7, Glassbook, and Magnet magazines.
